Lost children's book from the 80's

When I was very young, 3-5ish, in the mid eighties I had a story book about an adventure in a hot air balloon. On the front cover there was a pouch which contained a cut out hot air balloon shape. As you read the book, you pushed the hot air balloon through slots in the pages.

There was one page which I vividly remember, the hot air balloon get blown along by the clouds, and there were lots of swirling clouds.

I've asked many people about this book, and tried google searching using the limited information I have, but I've had no look in finding it. My parents vaguely remember it, which at least confirms I didn't imagine it, but not the title.

Does anyone on here recognise this book and can remember the title?

I don't know the balloon one, but my son had something similar with a kite that was pulled through the holes in the page by its string as you followed the story. Story was about a boy chasing his kite that had got loose.

I had this book! Was so obsessed with Ted and Dolly. The lamp in my room was a hot air balloon and my dad painted a Ted and Dolly mural on the bedroom wall.

Haven't thought about it years, thanks for the memory OP!

totiredtosleep · 16/01/2015 22:13

Sunnyshine, that would be much appreciated! Grin
