Colleague is writing one with an illustrator friend and looking for tips, what are the best you've read and why?

Though we love dinos in our house, we don't have storybooks about them, though had some horrendous one about a dinosaur with eczema from the library.

So we are talking fiction not fact?

Must have a t rex in.

What age are they aiming at as that makes a lot of difference.

Just read harry and the dinosaurs, they are perfect.
Oh a pronounciation guide.

Fiction, for 5-7 age range. The pictures are lovely art style not cartoonish.

Potentially a story about a model that comes to life - but what happens with it, no idea yet.

My 16 year old used to love Dinosaur Roar! by Ben Strickland. Can't really remember why, but it was a very "bright" (as in colourful) book which seemed to attract her.
