Having noticed recently more storytimes available in the area, and hearing from my nanny how great they are, i decided last week (seeing as I had the week off - hurraah) to check one out for myself. Chelsea Children's Library seem to have a new addition to their weekly events with a girl called Siggistardust (i think i'm spelling that right).
I have to say i do my best to read to my son before bed, but havent found he engages very well till my nanny told me how he responded at this storytime. I realised how much has been lost over the last 10 years in just simple storytelling and how effective it can be if it's good. And it was good, not just good but I had such a great time myself. She is super beautiful super talented and extremely funny too. The kids are so engaged when she opens her mouth and that's what you want!
I would highly recommend this. I think it's 4pm every wednesday at the library.
Bring on the rise of good storytellers.
