Wildlife adventure books?

I've recently got my 11yo DD the Willard. Price adventure books that I loved when I was little. She liked them and particularly loved the modern 4 follow up books by Anthony McGowan (which are a bit more PC).

Can anyone recommend any other similar wildlife adventure books?

For those that don't know the Price books (originally written back in 1950s-1970s) it's the adventures of 2 boys who travel the world collecting animals for zoos etc. the modern ones are now about conservation. But it's all the information of the animals , countries and cultures that she finds so interesting.

Oh yes! I remember reading the Price books too!!

Taking animals as their main themes are these books that I highly recommend ....

Cowgirl where a girl from a Welsh village is determined to save the cows from a local farm which is being forced to sell them.

Boy by Nicola Davies - a passionate animal lover - has written this wonderful novel about a boy trying to save the whales. It is beautifully written & really captures the majesty & wonder of the whales.

She may also be interested in Christian the Lion made famous by that Youtube clip.

Lauren St John has written several wildlife-themed books which might appeal. Or the ones by Carl Hiaasen - Hoot, Scat, Chomp etc.

Also Steve Backshall has done a series of wildlife adventure books for children (I suspect a ghostwriter did most of the actual writing), though I seem to remember DD was not terribly impressed by the first one.
