Classic reads for 5/6/7 year old

DD is 5, nearly 6. She loves being read to but has struggled greatly with even the basics in terms of learning to read. Seems likely she has dyslexia. We have always read to her a lot and she also listens to story CD's. I am keen to keep reading to her as much as possible but I want to read well written stories. Her comprehension seems very good. Her favourites so far have been Pipi Longstocking, Danny The Champion of the World, Heidi and the Sophie stories by Dick King Smith.

Any other suggestions for classics, new or old that might appeal and that I will also enjoy reading?

Briiliant, thank you for the suggestions, She does love Milly Molly Mandy & I have been meaning to look out the Naughty little sister books because I think those will really appeal as well. Lots of others as well that I hadn't thought of, so thank you, should keep us going a while!

There is also Madame Pamplemousse. Can't remember the author. Very popular with the girls in the library where I work.

All of the above, and how about the Ramona books by Beverly Clearly? They are great too.

"The Land of Green Ginger" by Noel Langley - it is a sequel to the Aladdin story, and has both magic and humour. It has a flying back garden, a magician who has accidentally turned himself into a button-nosed tortoise, villains called Rub Dub Ben Thud and Tin Tack Ping Foo, and a donkey who sits on a pin.
