DD 9- not into fantasy- needs something more challenging- what next?

DD enjoyed the Hunger Games and Harry Potter but otherwise she hasn't liked any of the longer fantasy books.
I need to get something which takes her a little while to get through like the above. She loved Tom Gates, David Walliams, Wimpy Kid, Judy Blume, etc but they are all read in a night or two.
Any suggestions?? There seems to be a lot of fantasy type books about, I hate them too so have sympathy with her.

My 9yo DD has just finished reading all her brothers Alex Rider books which she really enjoyed. She is just starting on his 'Young James Bond' books. They are both young spy thriller type series, certainly not just for boys.
Other books she has enjoyed are the Little White Horse, A Traveller in Time (may be a bit fantasy-ish as sort of ghosty, but DD really enjoyed the history side of it), The Painted Garden, Ballet Shoes, Five Children and It. These older books tend to take her a bit longer to read because they are written in an older style using more complex language and longer words.
She also enjoys books by Lauren St John.

I'd try these recent releases;

Waffle Hearts - beautiful story.
Wonder by RJ Palacio, on the short side but really, really good.
The Tiffin
The Secret Hen House Theatre is a great adventure style novel and totally absorbing.
Louis Beside Himself is really fun and will offer a little bit a challenge too as Louis is a character who loves big words!

Has she read all the Little House on the Prairie books? Mary Poppins? The Secret Garden and all the books by Frances Hodgson Burnett? The Borrowers? My girls loved Barkbelly by Cat Weatherill (and there's a sequel which I can't get hold of). The Narnia series....

Thanks very much, i will take a look at all the above (some she has read but certainly not all). What do you think about the teenage section in the bookshops, are any there worth a read or is the subject matter too adult?

My kids absolutely love the Mysterious Benedict Society books. They are wonderful books and not fantasy!

In terms of content - Hot Key Books have a fab indicator on the back of their books which gives a really clear idea of the themes. Really useful!
