Can anyone help - similar to a Famous Five type story

I remember reading a story about some kids that have an adventure somewhere and part of it involved riding in a canoe (or similar), inside a mountain, on a river that flowed through it in a sort of cave. Sometimes they would stop and hideout in the passage way, but it led to a secret place (I want to say jungle).

Oh god, its so vague.

I think there was a couple of books, not necessarily the same chatacters or places but similar style all same author.

Very similar to Endi Blyton type books.

Enid Blyton also wrote The Adventure Series - it's not from that, is it?

The Secret Seven?

In fact probably the one after the secret mountain - the secret of killimooin.

Jack, Peggy, Nora and mike.

MyNameIsKenAdams · 24/03/2014 22:56

Hmmm...ive read the Secret Mountain plot online and whilst certain things ring a bell (Ranni and Pilascu), other things are alien to me - prince paul, the throne room and lift.....the book im thinking of must be similar but that just isnt quite it.

The next one, Secret of Killimooin - that has a river leading to a secret jungle.

Hiphopopotamus · 24/03/2014 23:18

I think the original plan was for it to be called The Secret Forest. But there were then worries that the second book of the series would stand out (The secret of Spiggy Holes) as the others would all be too similar (secret island, secret mountain, secret forest) so they called it The Secret of Killimooin.

Yep - Enid blyton geek Blush

MyNameIsKenAdams · 24/03/2014 23:23

Well Thanks for you all.

I am.also looking for an old.book from when I was much younger but posted that on Facebook and one of my friends thinks she has a copy in her loft! Productive evening all round book-wise.

Oh god, we have recently bought a box set of 'the secret of....' series, new, and its the secret forest in our version - not killimooin. But I really am being pedantic now! i think i should go and do something more productive!
