I cried when I read The Railway Children to DD today...

... and we were in a cafe so everyone could see me sniffling. I had to wipe away the tears when a friend came in!

And it was only the Ladybird version! But even the abridged text couldn't spoil the moment when Bobby's father returns.

I cry every time I read it. Found my old copy at my sister's house, started reading, got quite teary and she laughed at me, the swine! Saw the stage play at Christmas and blubbed again. It's the Russian refugee being reunited with his family that does it for me. We don't even see the reunion, it's just being told he's found them and I'm off!
