What age for Benjamin Zephaniah novels and poems?

Ds is 7. Too young?

I've used his poetry when I've taught that age. I'm not familiar with his novels though.

Any collection in particular that worked well, Devonfolk?

Refugee Boy (book) is better for 10+ I think - it's on at Southbank as a play in February half term. It's quite hard hitting though.
