I am looking for a scaryish chapter book to read in October to 6yo dd1.

Any suggestions?

The worst witch?

My dd loved Witch Which by Eva Ibbotson but she was eight, not six.

I was going to say worst witch as well. Or Harry potter - 1st book ok for a 6yo.

Best Halloween book I know is "Late for Halloween" by Camille Fegan, but it's out of print. Perfect for the 6-10 age group.

Was also going to say Worst Witch, but also recommend Sophie and the Shadow Woods.

There's a Magic Treehouse book called Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve that my DS loved when he was six.

Thanks for all the suggestions, have added them all to my Amazon basket.

Shame about Halloween at Last being out of print. Will have to keep an eye out in the charity shops for it.
