As due to a bit of confusion over 2-in-1 and 3-in1 editions, I have a spare copy of numbers 7 and 8 (The Magic Pony and Ride Like The Wind) that I'd be happy to send to an MNer who loves them as much as me and my 10yo DD do Smile

They are great aren't they :) I've just spent a lurgy-ridden two days in bed rereading them all now we've finally completed our collection!

These books are totally brilliant and the publishers at Catnip books agree as they've recently republished them www.catnippublishing.co.uk/fiction.html with lovely new photo covers (of an Arab mare called Shantih!)
Still the best horse/pony stories out there - IMO, my daughter enjoys them too!

I adored them! My mother sent then to a charity shop and I've still not completely forgiven her.

PaleHousewifeOfCumbriaCounty · 10/05/2013 17:11

Oh my gawd the memories! I loved these books!

NotALondoner · 10/05/2013 17:13

Oh I would love them if no-one has bagged them.

Yes, I remember these books as well. I used to really identify with Jinny, as I remember that she felt like an outsider and very alienated from her conventional sister, Petra. I remember thinking that Ken was quite a strange character. There was one book where she had a girl from a deprived city background come to stay with her, and the girl - Marlene, i think - couldn't think of animals to go into Noah's Ark, so says "forward the egg". Funny the little things you remember.

Goldmandra · 11/05/2013 19:06

I had forgotten all about those books. I loved them!
I will have to buy one for DD. She's probably a bit old for them at 16 but she can always pass them on to DD2 who is 10 and just discovering horses.
Thanks for the reminder Grin

Amazing books. Pony books yes but with some depth to them.

i loved all PL's books

Goldmandra · 13/05/2013 00:13

I've just ordered a set of five from Amazon. I really hope the DDs like them as much as I did. I ached for a horse like Shantih. In fact I ached for a horse full stop.
