Kindle books for DD1, aged 8

DD1 got a kindle for her birthday; she loves Wimpy Kid, so have downloaded all of those, plus just did all the Ane oGG series and "What Katy Did" trilogy; any other recommendations would be very gratefully received. Avoiding Enid Blyton.

The Tom Gates series by Liz Pichon are very popular,
Jeremy Strong writes some lovely funny books for that age group.
Big Nate books by lincoln pierce (I think).

The Mice of St. Goran's - I recommend it to everyone, it's lovely
Why avoid EB? Just think of them as "long ago and far away" in a different world - the characters and settings tend to be so remote from what modern children encounter every day that they may as well be a different parallel world (like Harry Potter ) that just resembles this one a lot. Treat them as fantasy/make believe as you would any other story.
My DD (10) love the Opal Moonbaby ones we won them on here and no3 son (8) likes the Mr Gum series.
There are five "Katy" books btw, not three - "Clover" and "In the High Valley" are the last two, and they were free on Kindle recently
There's the "Little House" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and Susan Cooper has some nice ones, not just the "Dark is Rising" series, but the Boggart, Seaward, Victory, and King of Shadows are all good too.

Thank you very much everybody; have downloaded the Mice of St thingy book and there are some great suggestions here which I very much appreciate.

The only reason we're avoiding EB (apart from the dodgy racism/sexism) is that I that I think they are appallingly written! Thanks everyone for replying, would love to hear of any more recommendations.

Has she tried Mr Gum? I know they are on audio, just not sure about kindle.

Definitely David Walliams. Maybe the first Harry Potter?

Also by L M Montgomery, was the Emily trilogy, where all books have titles including her name, Emily climbs, Emily's Quest, etc - I preferred this to Anne of GG set as a child. L M Montgomery was really prolific, she wrote a lot more than I ever knew and I had 8 Anne books, plus the 3 Emilys, and about 5 more aside from that! But I have bought a mahoosive set for kindle.

I just looked to see whether the Children of Green Knowe was on kindle and I'm a bit surprised that it isn't :(

Citypark by Ailie Hunter. It's quite a gentle story about witches and fairies and things living in a big park. I enjoyed it and so did my daughter.
