Books with a good sister-sister relationship

When my dd was born her big brother loved reading about Alfie and Annie Rose and Charlie and Lola, both lovely big brothers. It got me thinking , are there similar books for two sisters ?

A couple of my friends are expecting a second daughter , and I thought a nice story would be a welcome big sister present .

Any ideas?

My Naughty Little Sister has a nice relationship between the two sisters I think :)

We've just read The Worst Thing About My Sister by Jacqueline Wilson. It's about two sisters who are very different, but who have to learn to get on with each other when they are forced to share a bedroom. They have some spectacular fallings out, but at the heart of it they love each other very much. There is a happy ending :)

There is a gorgeous picture book called 'Big Sister, little sister'. Would be an ideal gift for a young child.

This was one of my favorites as a child. You might have to look around for a cheaper copy!

I agree that My Naughty Little Sister would be a great choice. And what about Little House in the Big Woods with Laura and Mary.

When they are older, The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall (and its sequels) are really lovely books about four sisters.

Iggy & Me by Jenny Valentine is a modern day My Naughty Little Sister.
