What is this book please! Silver cover, children's book....

MIL flashed a book under my nose last night - so fast I couldn't even catch the title. She has bought it as a gift for DC (hence the fastness as she was showing me very quickly whislt they weren't looking!).

Normally what she buys them is great, but just every now and then it's something a bit off the wall and I want to check it out before she gives it to them to make sure it is age appropriate etc.

It had a shiny silver cover and I thought it had "space" in the title, and a drawn picture of a child/boy/character on the front but searches on Amazon have given me nothing.

I think it is a fairly new release.....

DC are 8 and 7 - any idea if it is within their grasp and/or suitable? At least now I can look it up!

I haven't read it all. Just started reading it to 10 and 11 year olds. They love it. I do think it is aimed for 11 ish and up.

Interesting!! Precisely why I wanted to check it. MIL is lovely as she often gives them books but some are a bit mature in content and language and we've been caught out before!!

Maybe the sparkly cover caught her eye . My great nan bought me a book when I was 9 called The Snowman. She obviously had no idea it was filled with drugs and underage pregnancy. I was agog.
You could give it a go. I am enjoying it.

I read it and so did my son (won't embarrass him by saying how old he is). Its a good book, I can't think of anything too inappropriate. Its about a boy who is very tall for his age, is often mistaken for an adult, and pretends to be a girl in his class's Dad so they can go into space.

Its a very easy read if they are confident readers. Otherwise should be quite good for you to read to them. Or put away until they are interested. The Author has written a few other good books, but the first two were good, but a bit too similar to each other. This one is very different.

First two: "Millions" and "Framed". My kids enjoyed Millions, but got bored with Framed afterwards.
