I'm looking for the title of a book I read when I was a young teen during the 1980's. I'm sure the main character was a girl called Julie, who went out with an older man called Steve. Another boy (the name Chris seems familiar) fancied Julie. Julie used to shop off club books and buy her Christmas presents really early. She cooked a meal for Steve once and ended up going to the chip shop and asking them to cook the fish in breadcrumbs so that he would think it was home made.
Needless to say, this book is not great literature but it's been bugging me incessantly for ages.
Anyone? Please?
