Me again
This time books for my reluctant 7 year old DS
He does however love cricket and reads manuals about cricket in bed.
Any good recommendations for novels with a cricket theme

This is probably one for you to read with him, rather than for him to tackle independently: The Gold Bat by PG Wodehouse. The cricket is a only part of it though - might not suit a cricket fiend. Available free from Project Gutenberg, so if you can download from there, you've nothing to lose.

This??

Now I do love PG Wodehouse
Many thanks

My nephew (same age) has been enjoying the Butterfinger books by Bob Cattell. Looking at Amazon it suggests age 9, but I'm pretty sure nephew was a bit of a fledgling reader himself when he started off reading them. Nice series so you can follow his developing career

Taken a look at the Bob Cattell series and think DS will like it. Thanks.

Am also reporting back.
His grandparents bought him Butterfingers for his birthday and he has been reading it by himself in bed which is a first!!
