Dd got the jw annual for Christmas and has really enjoyed it and asked for some books for her birthday.

Having read the reviews on amazon I think some of the themes are a bit old for her.

The ones I thought most suitable were sleepovers and worst thing about my sister, has anyone read these? She asked for Tracey beaker but having seen a bit of it on CBbc I'm undecided.

My quite sensitive 8 year old has read and enjoyed Double Act and The Worry Website.

My DD has enjoyed Lizzy Zipmouth, Cliffhanger and Double Act. She is 8 now but first read them about 12m ago.

People keep buying my DD JW books, and so far I have taken Diamond Girls, and My Sister Jodie away as being too old for her (she's coming up 10)
Sleepovers was ok, as were Cookie, Lizzie Zipmouth, and she loved Hetty Feather, although I have deliberately not told her about the sequels as they are much sadder than the first one, which has a nice happy ending.
I read them all first though, as JW is so intense at times - some of her stuff is just too much, too full on, or completely unsuitable for children (just my opinion, but they do bear careful vetting as they vary so much in the content and issues they tackle).

The website shows you the ages each book is aimed at.

My dd has just read Best Friends which she adored and we've got Double Trouble and Glubslyme ? out of the library to read next.

She loved Sleepover,Lizzy Zipmouth,The Catmummy ? basically all the thinner ones aimed at younger kids.
