Horrid Henry Early Readers- what level are they?

DS is progressing fantastically with his reading. I have bought some of the Horrid Henry Early Readers but don't want to give them to him to try until he can at least have a good go and they aren't too tricky. He already loves Horrid Henry as we have read a few to him. So, what level are the Early Readers roughly corresponding to the book bands? He's on orange/turquoise at the moment. I thought I'd hold off for a while, my instinct is they're a bit tricky as yet, but interesting to hear others' thoughts.

My DS is at the same stage. We have had the early readers for a while now and I've read them to him.

DS's main problem is confidence and he refuses to believe he can read them. But I think they are at his level, maybe a little challenging.

I would read them to him first but with him following the text. Or get him to read a page, then you etc.

Ds1 read them last summer when he was ORT8/purple, ds2 is just about to move onto ORT7/turquoise and I pulled them out to see if he's ready but he'd be overwhelmed at this stage.

Thanks, yes, I think my instinct to wait just a little while is right then. He manages his reading scheme books really well. We have tried bits of me reading/him reading with harder books but it doesn't work so well- he prefers it when he can read most things by himself.
