Bear on a Bike? or Curious George Rides a Bike? They might not be any good for 5/6 year olds, dd is only 19 months but I have seen these books before

Mrs Armitage on wheels, I love this book so much.

Slilou · 21/01/2012 13:11

i shouldve said... they already know mrs armitage, so it needs to be something new...

thanks for other suggestions, but i need to be really sure of age/ level of book before ordering on amazon, as you can rarely look inside the book before buying.

For you to read to them?
For them to read with an adult?
For them to read independently?

Slilou · 21/01/2012 13:18

sorry... for me to read to them...

...and hopefully provide inspiration for some shared writing

Friends and Brothers by Dick King Smith is great.
A story about an older brother resenting a younger one and how it is resolved.
One falls off his bike.
really good for PSHE/Circle time etc
I used it for Year 3 even though its a bit young for them --they liked it.

This isn't a story, but it sounded like it might fit in quite nicely?

The Bicycle

I agree about Wheels too.

I was shocked Mrs Armitage on wheels was published in 1999, I'm sure I read it or had it read to me when I was younger than that!
