Here: Fourth Eragon book (won't be reading that one - though it might make a good doorstop when its read)
First Church Mouse book (already read but haven't had time to look at all the pictures properly yet :) )
And a Martin Garner riddle/brainteaser book (have had the jokes read to me!)

Snow Queen, trans. Naomi Lewis, illustrated by Christian Birmingham. Great translation, beautiful pictures, DD enjoying it.
Usborne children's picture atlas - the text bits of this are better than the maps.

Hope your ds enjoys Guns, Germs & Steel - I thought it was an excellent book (has he/have you read Collapse, also v. good?)

DD is still working her way through Eragon but she tells me that all is now well as the evil king is now dead Grin

Charlie and Lola (Slightly invisible, I will never eat a tomato, I'm too absolutely small for school, look after your planet)
Snow Queen By Nicky Raven. We also have the Christian Birmingham one. DD really enjoying listening to Gerda's adventures.

Lucy and Tom's Christmas (A pre Christmas present as it's really about getting ready for Christmas) Could not find it anywhere for less than £9!

3 Astrosaurs and 2 more Slime Squad - I ordered them from Amazon on 22nd December, Super Saver delivery - predicted to arrive some time in January. They turned up on Christmas Eve! Fortunately they were not ds' Christmas present, just a bonus as we finished Slime Squad and the Cyber Poos sooner than expected.

Eragon sounds good!

My DD is only now 12wks but we got her some books for future reading. My favourite of which is The Night You Were Born, it's such a lovely story book and I am such a sap I have to stop myself getting emotional every time I read it to her Xmas Blush

My son (11) got Ribblestrop (Andy Mulligan) in English and the 3rd Young Bond in German.

I'm going to be reading Ribblestrop myself and expect husband will read the Bond.

I picked up Richard Scarry books for mine but on looking at them found that surprisingly enough they seem a little, erm, dated now. "Daddy has bought Mummy a nice new dress for taking such good care of the house" etc.

I loved them when I was a child. I Am Getting Old Shocker!

Dd among others got the Wimpy Kid series. She looked, frowned and said "what was he (Santa) thinking?" BlushGrin Probably not my finest moment when I bought those then.I'll donate them to the school library I think.

my son didnt get as many books this year (mainly due to mummy constantly buying too many for him during the year and our shelves bulging at the seems) but he got Usborne's See Inside Inventions which hes really enjoyed dipping into and Steve Backshall's Predators which hes loving too.

DS1 (5 and star wars obsessed) got

  • Star Wars pop up book (truly amazing book - DH and I are envious)
  • Pop up atlas around the world book
  • Star Wars Lego book
  • Star Wars hologram book

DS2 (3 and animal obsessed) got

  • This is London (which DS1 enjoys reading most)
  • Waddle (hologram book)
  • Tiger book (with tiger jigsaw)
  • Noah's Ark book and put together paper model

The Star Wars book and the This is London book are by far the most popular!

I love the snow queen- can't wait to read that to dd.

She got lots of books-best of which included:

The jolly postman (2 copies- 1 from FC, one from a friend)
The gruffalo's child
The snowman

And we were all really grateful for a box set of Julia Donaldson story CDs from a friend who obvIiously knows her very well!
