If your DC could only have one book per year, which would it be?

I have two nephews (7 and 1) and a niece (6mo) living in a country where it's very expensive to buy books. I send them books for Christmas but there are so many to choose from it ends up costing quite a bit in postage! So it got me wondering, if your child could only have one book a year, which one would you give them? My list has gaps in it but I think DS would get something like:

- set of Christian scriptures
- Where's Spot?
- Slinky Malinky
- We're Going on a Bear Hunt
- The Jolly Christmas Postman
- Warlock Watson
- James and the Giant Peach
- Five on a Treasure Island
- Harry and the Wrinklies
- Artemis Fowl
- The Hobbit
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher?s Stone
- Stormbreaker
- Oliver Twist
- The Dolphin Crossing
- His Dark Materials
- The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
- The Shadow of the Sun
