DS (8) recently borrowed from the library the first of this series by Adam blade (or the group of authors under that name) as he likes the beast quest series. Beast quest is for 7+ but this series is aimed at 9+.

but I was suprised to see lots of description of blood in the battle scenes, it just seemed a bit much to me when even in my adult fantasy books I am not told about blood dripping off the sword, or the streets running red with blood etc.

Has anyone elses dc got these books? What are your opinions?

We are reading swallows and amazons now.. much more wholesome!

If you go on Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1408307472/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_img#_

and click on the look inside feature and do a search for blood it comes up 32 times.
things like:
The body of the boy lay spread-eagled on the floor, blood oozed from his slashed throat.

His Grandmother was dead now, Tanner had held her in his arms as blood bubbled from her wounds.

Discarded weapons, severed limbs and dead bodies littered the market square, the cobbled stones where streaked with blood - the town would never be the same again.

He slid down the blade, blood pooring from his gurgling mouth, eyes wide with shock.
