Please help me find this childrens story book

Details are vague as from DD2. A book she had read to her in hospital which has stuck in her mind.

Story is about a little girl called Lucy and a pony called Pebbles. The thing that has stuck in her mind is that the pony wasn't the fastest pony but Lucy loved him anyway....thanks!

There was a Pebbles the Pony in the Magic Pony series but my DD has moved on from those so I can't check ....

Thanks Mega. It was more of a picture book than a chapter book. I came out with same answer via google though.
