DS (5 yrs) had op in October. I borrowed a 'Going to Hospital' book from local library but tbh it was pretty out of date and pretty patronising too.

I just chatted it through with him in the end, what would happen, where I'd be etc. Seemed to work quite well, particularly as what worried him (where his sisters would be and what could he take with him) was not what I expected.
