Sad to hear Dick King-Smith has died...

...I know he was old, but he was one of my favourite writers from when I was first old enough to read by myself. Martin's Mice, The Sheep Pig, Tumbleweed, Dragon Boy, The Fox Busters etc etc etc.

He sounded like a lovely man, too.

yes it is sad.my dd1 (9) got quite a few of his books from my mum for christmas and they seem quite good.id never heard of him before that.

Sad here too, DD2 has just had "Emily's Legs" as a scheme book and really enjoyed it.

oh no! :( dd has read absolutely everything she can find by him in the library .. and now there won't be any more

I was very sad too. His books were amazing and really got me into reading. I met him once as a child and he was so kind and gentle and lovely. He read one of his stories to me and my sister. Happy memories.
