Books about young reporters

I am looking for fiction books about young reporters, working in a magazine or newspaper for an 11 year old who is a keen reader. At the moment she is reading Enid Blyton school books and Treasure Island. She is editor of her school magazine so I thought it would be fun to give her books about kids in journalism but I cant think of any. Also does anyone remember a tv series about a kids newspaper?

the mystery kids (Fiona Kelly) work for their school magazine but I don't know if the fact they are reporters plays much of a role in the crime solving.

Remember dd borrowed this dvd from the library once and it was about a girl living at the time of the Great Depression who wanted to become a reporter (about hobbos, people going bankrupt etc).

Don't know about a tv series but wasn't one of the Waltons a reporter - John Boy even?
