We seem to have an awful lot of Mick Inkpen books in the house these days (including a collection which was a fab MN secret santa present Smile).

Yesterday I discovered 'This is my book', we like the bit where the dragon eats the letters and makes the word change to 'poo'.

I could happily read them every bedtime.

Me too!
My 2 have outgrown them now, but resolutely refuse to let them be given away.
I'll still find the pair of them settling down with a bit of Kipper or Nothing...they're 7 and 13 Grin

southeastastra · 08/10/2010 21:47

is that his real name do you think? Grin

we had a lovely one with a little light in it, can't think what it was called

Meglet · 08/10/2010 21:49

aaw, posey, in that case we've got years of them ahead of us. Mine are 2 and almost 4.

The Great Pet Sale is a classic. Percy the Park Keeper is boring.

posey · 08/10/2010 21:51

Was just looking to see if I could find out if it is his real name and I find out that Kipper is 18
And it doesn't see it is a pen name so I guess it's real. Cool name.

posey · 08/10/2010 21:52

Ah Nick Butterworth was never as good

ChasingSquirrels · 08/10/2010 21:53

oh, Nothing - what a lovely book.
and Where oh where is kipper's bear
and, and, and

fab books

Stinkyfeet · 08/10/2010 21:56

I love Kipper - haven't read any of his others I don't think. But Kipper is so great, Kipper's Chistmas Eve has been a favourite all year round in this house. The one with Roly the hamster as well!!

NotPhillipeVonRumple · 08/10/2010 21:57

oh yes Blush of course Nick Butterworth. Oh the shame.
The great pet sale still fanastic though.

feetheart · 08/10/2010 21:57

And as for the Blue Nose Island ones - absolutely wonderful Grin

Meglet · 08/10/2010 21:58

I- the dc's like The Blue Balloon and Bear best.

Naughty Step also seems to work well when they have been playing up. And I am going to make a huge choc cake just like the one in the book.

Kipper. Yes, nice stuff

CaptainNancy · 08/10/2010 22:08

Mick Inkpen is fantastic. I especially like Tiger from the Kipper books- DS had a hat and gloves just like his last winter.

The bluenose Island ones are nice. And Wibbly pig's garden.
And Kippers Balloon is the best...

"If we had a big balloon... a really big balloon... where would we go?"

pointydog · 08/10/2010 22:15

ohhh wibbly pig. dd2 loved wibbly pig as a baby/toddler. Just lovely lovely tiny kid stuff.

headinhands · 08/10/2010 22:16

Billy's Beetle? Is that from the same guy? We love that.

Arewenearlythereyet2009 · 11/10/2010 11:45

I must admit, we only have a few Kipper books, but they have been a great hit with all the kids.
