Michael Morpurgo, which are suitable for younger readers?

DD (6 but with a high reading age) loved Kaspar, Prince of Cats, and would like another Michael Morpurgo book. I know some of his books cover quite serious/sad subjects, however, so wondering which would be suitable for a younger reader?

I can recommend The White Horse of Zennor (short stories, but with a link that only becomes apparent at the end). I read Waiting for Anya at that age too but it is about Nazis, but from a child's POV.

His website is good for summaries. Hope she enjoys them!

My dds enjoyed Adolphus Tips at that age, mostly about a girl and a cat and a wartime evacuation of a village. not too much gore.

Farm Boy - the one with the tractor racing a horse. That's v easy and short.

If she likes animal stories then Dick King-Smith is a brilliant writer too, has she read any of his?

The book people are currently selling 16 of his books for £16.99.
