My 5 year old has a lump in one breast

Hi, my daughter who is 5 has a lump and swollen breast on her left side, she’s had this around a year and I did get it checked a while back and they told me it was a breast bud and left it at that, a few days ago I went to get it checked again just to make sure it was still ok as it was more tender when I was touching it and it seems to have grown, the doctor has now referred me for a fast track breast scan and has really scared me, she said as it’s now painful and the nipple has inverted that she would rather be safe than sorry. I’m petrified and googling and preparing myself for the worst, has anyone else been in a similar position and can offer any advice please as these next two weeks feel like the longest of my life 😭 thank you.

I have no experience of this but just wanted to hand hold. Hope she is seen soon.
