GP referred DS for bloods…worried

Hi all,
so my DS (21mo) has been back and forth from GP since around March. Back to back infections and viruses, loose stools and every time we have been sent home ‘it’s just viral’ ‘he’s in nursery’ it’s normal.
well last week I was at the end of my tether, after back to back illnesses over the summer he was put on antibiotics- low and behold a week later another cold! I took him to our new GP and she listened to my concerns, he has had bouts of fevers that are random and horrendous night sweats and they seemed to be her main concerns.
anyway I was just wondering if anyone else had been through anything similar- I am extremely anxious and so worried it could be cancer, bloods are next week and I can’t stop thinking about it.

Did your GP mention cancer?
there’s are lots of things it could be - did the GP indicate what they thought it may be
to be honest, I’d call the doctor back and ask rather than drive yourself crazy over this

No, she didn’t. She didn’t give me any indication of what she thought it could be, just that it didn’t sound right and she was concerned- sadly I’ve fallen trap to ‘doctor Google’ and it’s lead me to worry. I had a cousin that had leukaemia as a child and I think that is where my anxiety stems from. I don’t want to seem crazy and start self diagnosing but that constant thought is just in the back of my mind since all this started.
I should mention DS is very pale, and seems to be sleeping way more than usual. At first I thought maybe a deficiency or something but as I said Google seems to have worried me

Pale and sleepy seems like iron deficiency to me

Bloods show up a load of levels and markers for lots of things. I'm guessing this may give them (or not) some indication of anything at all...not just things like leukemia...iron...cell count...that in turn shows if his body is fighting an infection, etc. Easy to say, but Try not to worry too much.
