Interesting article in the Guardian today. Could identify with the friend at her bf’s son’s first birthday party, the only woman without a baby on her knee.

They were best mates. Then one had a baby, while the other struggled. Two brutally honest takes on what happens when motherhood affects friendship

They both had something the other wanted. Could their relationship survive?

Thank you for sharing @KimberleyClark . I really felt for Helen in the article and can identify with her - especially around not talking about IVF/ infertility with those who haven’t been through it- being told what a great life you have without kids by those who have the one thing you want the most just doesn’t help. It is really hard when you can’t have children and all your friends have them and they drift away- it’s a bit like you have lost the life you had before but also can’t realise the one you want.

I’m actually really surprised in a lot of ways they managed to stay friends, lack of understanding and pain and envy can really just cause massive rifts. Although it’s obviously been hard, they’ve made their friendship work.
