I must confess....I'm not a childless cat lady. I mean, I'm definitely childless but I have a dog instead.

In fact currently I don't even have a dog as mine died recently and I'm waiting until the new puppy is 8 weeks old in about 3 weeks time before we pick him up. no we didn't wait long and no we don't regret it.

While I'd love to have a cat, I think having a puppy and a kitten at the same time might be carnage. No, there's no might about it...it will be carnage.

So hope the childless cat ladies out there will forgive me and I'd say, have another few cats for me 🐈

Who would want a dog when they could have a cat? I hope it's not too late to cancel your order.

Cosycore · 25/07/2024 18:22

I think you are safe, I don’t think being child free and a cat or dog lady are synonymous. 😂

you are most certainly welcome and wanted however way you are.

I think we may balance each other out @daliesque I have 5 cats (no children!) and am about to take in 2 more. A dog may be on the horizon now I’m a widow- but it’ll be next year!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 25/07/2024 19:11

I have no children, don't like cats and my dog died a few years ago. I'm contributing NOTHING! 😆

daliesque · 25/07/2024 19:13

We missed our old man so much that we found ourselves trawling pets for homes the day after he died 🙈

Happily childless cat lady here - why would you want a puppy?! All puppies have is silly, youthful exuberance and outsized flobbolly paws and soft, scritchable ears and big soulful eyes and... awww, look at that! 😍

CleanShirt · 26/07/2024 07:42

Oh look at that little guy!

Childfree, single and slave to a fat ginger boy with ridiculous separation anxiety.

oapcarer · 26/07/2024 07:44

Enjoy your lovely puppy 🐶

Coastalcreeksider · 26/07/2024 07:53

I have no kids and until last September always had a cat(s).

I did think when I retired (nearly five years ago), I would eventually get a dog instead of having a cat but due to the horrendous vets charges and lack of vets locally, I've decided against getting either again, so currently I am still catless.

I cheer myself up by watching endless cat videos online as it's cheaper than getting a real one. There, I'm that sad!! 😆

Daleksatemyshed · 26/07/2024 09:16

@daliesque beautiful, my favourite dogs, good natured and soppy. Enjoy your not cat

daliesque · 26/07/2024 10:23

Childless Horse Lady here.

If Gilead Commander Vance has a time machine to pop back 15 years to tell doctors not to remove my ovaries and then nip into the future to get the cure for the incurable medical issue that made that necessary, he's welcome to try.

Could you foster instead? There's a charity round me that does long-term fostering for some of their cats and they pay all the vets bills. They will also pay the bills if you adopt a cat with medical issues.
