DH and I dragging ourselves to Borough Market with umbrellas and coats. Tacos and margs for lunch I think.

Still not 100% after a laparoscopy last week so that's it I think!

Enjoy & get well soon! Me and DD are going for a hair cut, then we’re booked in to a pottery painting cafe as I have a voucher. Hoping baby DS will play ball and let me do his footprints! Then home for dinner, it feels like a pie and chips weather… 🥶

Don't get too jealous of my exciting life, but I was going to get out the stepladder, climb down into the basement gully and clear weeds out of the drain (mind you, I said that last weekend).

Maybe sort some paperwork (Radio Times is in there somewhere, so that's an incentive).

You know, I don't like hot weather and am very grateful it's not like last year, but could the jetstream just piss off somewhere else? even I've had enough of this gloom.

40c + here in Portugal - not pleasant. Tiler is starting the kitchen floor on Monday so clearing cupboards and boxing everything up. Last leg of a 14 week renovation - hurrah!

I'm lying on the sofa in my pyjamas listening to music. I'm going to get up soon and do some housework.

magicalkitty · 05/08/2023 12:31

In bed with covid feeling rough.

Struggling to motivate myself to go out! Didn't wake up till gone nine, which is late by my standards.

DuckyShincracker · 05/08/2023 12:39

Decorating then out to dinner with lovely friends!

ReyFinn · 05/08/2023 14:33

Did a workout & ran 6k on the treadmill, neighbour just popped over for flour and eggs (the shops are open but I think she just wanted a chat) I was going to paint the bedroom but instead I'm on the sofa.

DH is at work. When he's back I'll cook a homemade pizza and drink lots of gin.

I should do something constructive beforehand.

Like a nap.

We've been to the Pride festival in our town, then for pizza and beer in our local on the way home. 🙂

A day in today reading, watching films and catching up on laundry and eating too much food and then out tomorrow, not sure where yet but maybe the seaside to eat chips in the rain.

Wishing it would rain! We're having a very dry winter in Oz, I'm apprehensive about what sort of summer we're in for.

Today I've got the washing on and am racing to get this jumper finished in time to wear it on Tuesday. One sleeve and four seams to do, I'd better turn the iPad off!

Last winter was quite dry in the UK; I think we've had more rain in July and the start of August than we were having in the middle of winter!

Went out on Friday night. Nothing big, just for (excellent) pizza locally. But it stopped raining for once, so we sat sort of outside on the covered terrace, and it almost felt like summer. Did a run this morning, and then spent a couple of hours replacing all the bedding plants that have been slugged to death with bargain Aldi violas and pansies.

Now too tired to do anything more than flop on the sofa. I often find this on Sundays- I want to do more, but weekend exercise finishes me off and I just can’t summon up the energy. Great when the weather’s good and chilling in the garden is an option, but it feels like an awful waste when it’s raining.

We've done a full blitz of the house and messed around on pc games for most of the weekend. I was hoping to get the zoo as we have annual passes and it's an easy way to get my steps in, but the weather is too dismal. And tonight we are going to have a great big roast chicken dinner.

Went to a beautiful wedding yesterday of DH's best friends' daughter. Met up with much of the wedding party for drinks on Friday night which was a bonus.

Dragged our hungover arses back home this morning and I'm now consigned to the sofa with a packet of chocolate digestives and a marathon run of A Place in the Sun.

Yes, having read about the horrendous hot summer in the northern hemisphere I was surprised to see all the threads about how it's suddenly so wet un Britain! Reminds me of that saying that the British summer is three fine days followed by a thunderstorm (which I've seen attributed to Charles I, Charles II and George II - my money would be on Charles II, the only one of those three noted for his wit).

I think it's one fine day followed by three thunderstorms at the moment!
