They get so angry at women who don’t bow down to patriarchy and soawn with a man.

Those comments are wild. Mostly men taking it very personally that a woman doesn't want their precious seed and telling her she's going to die alone.

Why is it that parents can spend hours telling us how having kids is the most beautiful, significant thing that anyone can ever do, and not be accused of being secretly miserable?

Weird.

I listen to my friends, family and colleagues (and random people sometimes 😂) while they tell me all about their children/house/pet/job/whatever, I like their social media posts and all that jazz as well and I never think they must be telling me because they’re secretly miserable but lots of people think that’s why childfree people talk about being childfree 🤪

Miserable is shorthand for ' you don't share my worldview and opinions. I'm happy with my world view and opinions, you don't so if you're not happy, ergo you must be miserable.' Elsewhere on here not wanting 40 degree heat all summer is miserable. Nope, it just means that I don't like heat, I don't function well in heat and I don't look forward to it and I'd rather we have cooler temperate summers. If you're happy in it, good for you. Why can't you respect my feelings as well?

I agree. I think some people have such a massive ego they can’t fathom not everyone would want to be just like them and live their lives the way they do, and some people aren’t happy/sure/confident etc in their choices and hope by others making the same choices it will validate them.

Two of the biggest pieces of evidence of this are any threads on mumsnet about formula fed/breastfed babies and SAHM/WOHM. Additional evidence can be found on threads about homeschooling, vegans, dogs and being childfree 😂

I love Chelsea Handler, her show was hilarious (RIP Chuey) and her books are great. She just doesn't give a fuck.

I remember when she released this skit about all the perks of being child-free and the right-wing were up in arms about it and about how it was "cope" because she must be secretly miserable.

It's always the same when women are open about being child-free. People love to crawl out of the woodwork, many men, to tell us how wrong and selfish we are and how any time we say we're really happy and fulfilled with our choice-it's just a lie to hide how miserable we are.

As for the other woman in the clip who is accusing Chelsea Handler of essentially being a bad influence to young women-she's a raging hypocrite. She spouts nonsense aimed at lonely men about how women over 30 have hit a wall and will be unable to find a partner (because men only value youth) to settle down with and have kids as they'll be competing with women in their twenties.

From a woman who met and married her partner at 39 and had her first child at 40.

Those comments are so vile, just people so ingrained that they believe the only purpose in life is to have children.

I was reflecting the other day after someone made a comment at work how they are so incredibly happy having children that no other happiness is as great as that....yet she had spent alot of the conversation and on other days moaning and complaining about her children or how tired she was and so on.

I thought I cant really remember the last time I moaned or complained about something so who is the one who is truly happy
