security at childrens summer camps

Is anyone else concerned about the free and easy open door policy of some summer camps? I have checked out three and at each one doors remain open (reason being - parents can drop off/pick up at any time.) Also children go to toilets unsupervised - usually out of earshot and vision of 'teachers' (usually young students). I want my children to enjoy the company of others and I need help from childcare aspect but I feel really anxious about potential dangers

I sent my son to a daycamp activity at our local leisure centre a couple of years ago and was horrified by how lax security was, in spite of being Ofsted registered. When I picked up at the end I could have walked off with anyone's child and the organisers would have been none the wiser.

I use supercamps drop off is between 8am and 9.20am and pick up is 4.30pm to 6pm. If you need to collect at any other time they bring your child to a specific location to meet you. In the youngest group 4 to 5 year olds they use a classroom where the toilet is in the classroom so the staff are always in earshot. Once they are 6 and older they do go to the toilet alone, however, this is the norm for my DD at school.
We sign in our child at the start of the day and have to tell the staff who will be picking up if it is even a different parent a password is used.
Whilst the staff are Students most are trainee teachers and the manager is a young qualified teacher earning a little extra money. I find the staff very aware that they are role models for the children and am constantly impressed by the example they have set. I am aware of less good camps in my area, however, supercamps is excellent.

Used Camp Beaumont for about 10 years and their security is good. Children have to be signed in / out, with ID card and password.

Even when assistants are students it's important to remember they have been CRB checked and lots of them have First Aid and Lifeguarding qualifications, many of the parents your children go to play with won't have these.

I send DS to Barracudas and find their security to be fine. You have to give them the names of all the people who will be picking up your child and the person picking up has to have the card that they give you on the first morning you drop your child off.
