No because I didn't think you are allowed and I never have

BoysAreLikeDogs · 09/07/2010 09:09

Is the assistant registered with ofsted as your assistant?

you need katy, she'll be around at some point

KatyMac · 09/07/2010 09:10

If the assistant has been checked by OFSTED then you can for times approved for in writing by the parents - I think they need a first aid cert

BoysAreLikeDogs · 09/07/2010 09:12

wow katy you came along in 21 seconds

changingsoon · 09/07/2010 09:14

i was told by ofsted that i coud leave the babby with my assistant hubby while i did school run?

atworknotworking · 09/07/2010 18:39

I put my leaving in sole charge bit in the consents, even if its on your cert you still need parental consent.

In emergency you can also leave mindees in the care of a suitable adult (but it has to be a dire emergency IYSWIM)

ChildrenAtHeart · 09/07/2010 20:49

To do this as a regular thing it must be a named assistant approved by Ofsted, Ofsted must have agreed to this condition, you must have parental permission in writing & they must have a 1st aid cert. There's a form on the Ofsted website you have to fill in specifically for this. hth

ChildrenAtHeart · 09/07/2010 20:51

by 'regular' I meant to be allowed to do it generally rather than as an emergency,

changingsoon · 11/07/2010 09:26

lol i know all that and i have it all just wondered if anyone had a policy written that i could get an idea from.

sorry - misunderstood. Hope someone on here can help. I need to do one as I'm in the process of registering dh as an assistant to help me on an occasional basis, but it will have to wait til after I've finished my EYP stuff along with everything else.
