Hi there,
haven't been on much of late but am really grateful to those of you who helped me during my au pair search and wanted to let you know how things were going.
Well we got back off our hols on Friday (ridiculously early) and then did the return car journey to Heathrow on Saturday to pick up Frida (from Sweden) our new (and very first) au pair.
I was quite nervous/excited while dd (4.5yrs) was completely chilled out about the whole thing. Frida seemed quite shy at first but soon had to contend with overamourous dd throwing herself at her which broke the ice.
We spent the weekend sorting out a bus pass and walking around to help her get her bearings. Today my mum came and they walked to nursery together and then she helped her find her way back.
I was aprehensive at how I would feel having someone else living with us (being just me and dd for a long while now) but I think we are going to get along ok. Obviously early days yet but a good start. dd seems to love her already which I was quite suprised about and she was quite put out when I said no to her request to go and snuggle up with Frida this morning when she woke up
She has told me she is writing a blog.....just hope it is all nice things...Also anyone who has an au pair in/near Bath who would like a friend then let me know.
Finally again thank you thank you to everyone who replied to my previous messages about finding an au pair, I know they are the kind of questions that are asked time and time again so I really appreciated the helpful and kind responses.
