Is there any way we can get a 'real' Childcare vacancy board?

like the one on Netmums (sorry),,its just the thread on here is very long and confusing, we could do with something thats easier to read, specific to area and updated regulary so people know if the space has been taken/no longer needed?..Please???.x

I agree - a properly organised and maintained childcare available and childcare wanted list would be very useful.

Is MN local not a possibility for this?

PinkChick · 05/07/2010 08:12

yeah i thought about local but think that would mean too much work for MN, a generic one with links to click on for diff areas would be clear ..i definatly need all the help i can personally get after getting notice from my only full timer last night

Perhaps I am being shortsighted but aren't there enough places already to advertise and I am not really sure that that many people would turn to Mumsnet (or Netmums!) when starting to look for childcare - not at least as their "first port of call".

Netmums IS a very popular way of sorting childcare, I've had one of my mindees over 3 years who found me on Netmums.

I agree, would be a good thing to have

I can't see how it would work on this board. With netmums the system knows your location, whereas on here you could be located anywhere.

PinkChick · 05/07/2010 10:50

my very first mindee who incidentally is the one leaving contacted me via netmums and there are always requests from parents on there, albeit not in my area, so i think it is a good area and for someone trying their hardest to run a business at the minute, there are never enough places to advertise, Mumsnet and Netmums is a place for..Mums..and dads so i think its a perfect plasce for something to be set up

Please please can mumsnet think about providing this service. I'm sure it must be galling to know that the 'otherside' do it so well (and it is very popular with minders & parents alike).

I agree with looney, you can never have too much of a good thing. And of course it must be free because parents need all the help they can get and i'm not making anything these days (do not even need to pay tax this year!)(i do it because i love it)
