Hello

I have a mindee B coming up to his 2nd birthday, but recently he has changed the way he is around me, he comes 2 days aweek, tues and fri for 5 hrs, he screams blue murder when he comes in leaving mum, thats not a problem, eventualy he calms down.
But when we are walking he will cry from the moment he starts to walk and when strangers walk past him he cries even more, he growls and he is starting to roll his eyes at me.
My other mindees have all sort of stoppped interacting with him, it is very strange behaviour from a 2 year old, then he will scream and cry when mum picks him up.
I have suggested maybe change his days to 2 consecutive days or longer hours on the days i do have him, or putting an extra day in between and mums answer was that this would cause her hell with him on the rest of the week.
Please any ideas?
I have had him since Feb 2010

can you put him in a buggy? he might prefer it

the rest of it I would ignore

make sure that you are encouraging inclusive play with the other children so that they are not excluding him and model inclusive behaviour too - think about your body language and whether any of your exasperation is leaking out

We use the buggy, but he is like it even in the buggy.

I'm always trying to encourage him to play with the other children whether its sticking, baking, playdoh or cars you name it, it really is a strange one, not come across this before!!

only thing i can put it down to is something happening at home, mayb

my daughter who is 5 recently decided to say she doesnt like dad when at school when at home she doesnt like school when with grandma she doesnt like mum, she is being v dfiant at school where she never has before, she refuses to join in at school and ignores the teachers, but at home is fine.

school called socail services on me as they were convinced somehting happened at home.

i can assure everyone nothing has but now it has put terrible strain on us, the school has decided that my daughter is special has actions unique to herself, is not a carefree young girl is unreponsive and needs help.

be careful before you rush into htings, i would have much prefered a lenghthy lets work together chat then the shcok i got. hop

so if he's not interested in the activities that you are offering then you need to work out what he DOES like

speak to parents to get info on his current interests ?
