Me and my husband had our Registration Inspection today.

Just had to let you know that we had our Registration Inspection today and it went really well. Last night we were cramming as much as we could. My Hubby was looking at the EYFS online and I was looking at the ICP notes that I hadn't put in a proper file. So as I was putting them in I was reading up on them at the same time.

We had made a last minute portfollio and we looked over the Learning and Development adjectives. This morning we were memorising them all. We looked over our policies and I am glad we did!

The inspector (lovely woman) didn't interview us totally by ourselfs but we took it in turns to give an answer to the questions she asked about the policies. We took 3 each of the Learning and Development adjectives. Like a tennis match lol. We got on so well with her she stayed for 3 hours and 20 mins. I think it would have been quicker if we hadn't talked so much.

When she had looked around it was surprising. We pointed out all the problems and how we were to fix them. (previous problems had been solved but we missed a couple) She turned around and said not to worry about fixing them. Just teach the children of the dangers. She was very helpful and often she gave us answers to the questions if we had missed out a bit.

Anyway we will be able to look after 6 children each but only 6 in the house. In other words we would have 3 each but if one of us was sick, wanted a break, or went to some training then the other childminder would be able to take over their children for a while. Can't work out the ratios properly but I'm sure it will say on the registration certificate. We now will be waiting for our crb's to get finished and myself to have a medical which I'm confident I'll pass. The good thing is if one of us gets our certificate before the other we can both work as long as the one without the certificate is supervised which we would anyway as we would be working together.

I'm so chuffed )
