Hi- I wonder if someone could give me some advice.

I have a 15 month old DD and also work from home- currently I do this without much help from anyone during the day, just get DP to muck in when he gets home.
So far so good, but now I have two problems:

  1. I am 8 weeks pregnant and am really suffering with MS (well all day and night really)
  2. DP is going away for 4 days on Tuesday

and I am panicking! Got no family who could help me out much to be honest.

I know its only 4 days but I am really worried I will struggle, feeling ill and making such a poor job of looking after DD when all I want to do is lie on the sofa.

Do you have any advice of how I could get in a mothers help, au pair or baby sitter perhaps just for a couple of hours a day for the next 4 weeks, starting- well pretty much next week really? I know its a long shot!

Try advertising on gumtree maybe?

www.childcare.co.uk/

I found this site really helpful recently and now have a lovely student who comes to help me out a couple of evenings a week. We set it up really quickly. Good luck!

www.childcare.co.uk/ - trying to get link to work!

You pay a £12 fee for three months, which allows you to contact any childcarers whose profile you like the look of.

Where are you, someone on here may be able to help.

JennyPenny23 · 22/05/2010 21:07

What area are you in? Somebody on here might be able to help you if you are near somebody! . Hope you get it soon. Netmums also have a childcare board that lots of childminders etc use.

I am in Hertfordshire, Welwyn Garden City, let me know if anyone might be able to help!

thanks

I know somebody there, but I think she is busy on her last uni placement over the next few weeks (she is about to qualify as a childrens nurse) but I will ask her just incase she does have time. Or she might know somebody else.
