She doesn't mind on Fridays, but she phoned today to ask if she could drop off a present for DS. It was two caterpillars with instructions and food so he can watch them turn into butterflies and release them! She's a gem of a woman, caring, flexible, calm, wise and very generous. Sadly now her own kids are grown up she's selling up to travel and volunteer abroad. I'm pleased for her but secretly hope she'll change her mind because I'm pregnant and she's one of the few people I could envisage happily leaving a baby with. A credit to your profession

And that is lovely that you have taken the time to share. Thank you - its great to hear about lovely minders and their appreciative 'parents'.

Hope your son enjoys the caterpillars

I LOVE my childminder. The stuff that she does is brilliant. The kids love her, and she's really professional. I've never had any concerns or gripes about her. Makes me sad when I see other people's problems.

When I went back to my old job before becoming a CM, I also had a really wonderful woman looking after my then 6 month old DS. She made SUCH a difference in our lives. Leaving DS with her was easy!

It is good to hear such lovely things about other CMs. It is a hard job, but one worth doing (usually )

Good post, OP!
