Hello

I don't know if any of you read my thread about Ofsted calling, but I had a phone call today from a parent wanting to come tomorrow, for their daughter to start on Monday. If everything is successful I can call Ofsted and tell them to come to do my inspection, but another thing is. . . .
What do I say and do to parents and child? What paperwork do I need to show them? the obvious is on the wall, e.g: registration, crb check, first aid certificate, policy insurance.

Any help or advice would be highly appreciated.

Don't worry about the visit, it's a chance for you all to get to know each other, Put some toys out or a craft activity, that you can do with the child while you chat with parents.

Tell them a bit about you and your family, what you have done career wise and why you wanted to be a CM.

Put a folder together with your certificates in (obv not the reg or Ins cos they should be displayed on wall) for parents to look through, if you have written policys, put them out too. Talk about how you plan to do your day when minding, where you go what activities you have to offer, discuss meals, childs routine and ask parents about their child.

Have you got some contracts, consents in place etc incase they want to sign asap.
Also it's good to give an All about me booklet for the parents to complete, so you know as much about the child as possible.

I didn't think about the contracts, and all about me form, will do that now.
