I have just started looking for a CM for when i go back to work, and have suddenly thought - can I use childcare vouchers to pay a CM??? Or would I have to put DD in a nursery in order to benefit from the vouchers? Aaargh panic!
Thank you!

I was able to pay my CM with childcare vouchers. She had to register with the childcare voucher provider. It wasn't too onerous for either of us! Hope that helps.

All your CM has to do is register with the voucher company your employer uses and then an account will be set up.

I am registered with Allsave & Busy Bees, the parents activate the payment 3-4 working days before it is due and the money goes straight into my bank account.

Each person can use up to £243 worth of vouchers each month.

So for example; I have a family who pay me £560 per month, Mum pays £243 in vouchers, Dad pays £243 in vouchers and the balance of £74 is paid in cash at the end of the month.

I hope that helps.

Most childminders that I know, happily take vouchers. There are a number of different companies - I am set up with Accor and care-4 and the parents go on line each month to make their payments and the funds then transfer directly into my bank account - much easier than having to go into town to pay cheques in.

Once the childminder has got her accounts with the voucher companies set up, it is normally a trouble-free process. It is a benefit for the parents and convenient for the childminder.

Oh brilliant that helps loads, just suddenly occurred to me it might be an issue! Phewee.

I am registered childminder taking Accor Vouchers. Check with the childminder you are going to use. Its really easy to set up.

All the best
