Rate for babysitting - staying the night

Hi all,
I need some overnight babysitting in London and am wondering what the rate is. The children are older so there won't be any night duties. I would expect to pay hourly till 9 when they will all be sleeping and then again from 7, but not sure what to pay for the nighttime hours?
all advice welcome!

Paying until 9pm is a bit lame. If you going out for a night, you wouldn't surely stop paying the sitter at 9pm just because the kids were asleep?!
If I babysat overnight, I'd expect to paid hourly until midnight and then, if I was sleeping over, I would probably just expect an extra tenner for fact I'd slept over but I guess London is different. Whenever I've slept the night, it's always been babysitting for people I knew well and so didn't charge them past midnight. If you offered to pay me until 9pm, I'd be miffed!
You could work it out hourly until midnight and then add on 20 quid. If it's a young babysitter, it would be different than paying a nanny for example and a nanny would have their own rates.

I agree with luciemule. Pay until midnight and then add on 20 quid.

agree pay till midnight normal bs rate and then sleepover fee of £30

Thanks all for the advice. I was thinking £50 for the night + £50 for the hours worked but agree your suggestion of paying till midnight sounds better.

I charge until midnight and have a sleepover fee. I think most nannies who have a set overnight rate work it out this way.

I am in east midlands and charge £100 for 7pm-7am then hrly rate (£12-£15 an hr) for any additional hours.

will depend on babysitters/nannies experience and how much they are expecting to be paid also.

I charge until midnight and then £15- £30 sleepover fee depending on how likely the children are to wake in the night. If I am needed in the morning I charge normal rates from 7am.
