What the parents don't see during an Ofsted inspection!

A good inspector will work around the children, and not expect a childminder to work around the inspector. Today I had my inspection, the inspector told me that I should be able to juggle her questions at the same time see to the needs of the children. (10mth and 3year old) Childminders need to remember, the needs of the children come first, regardless of an inspection!

my inspector talke over a crying / moaning 14 month old who needed her bottle and a sleep.

i asked the inspector to excuse me while i saw to the toddler. she did not even mention the child, but perhaps it was to test how i would handle the situation??? not sure. but an inspection is hard enough as it is. just wish i had been rid of my DS for that day!!!!

i do hope it all went really well! and at the very least, it is over for 3 years!

My last inspector let me play with the children through the whole inspection and slotted in her questions at appropriate times. It was really quite relaxing. (Definitely do NOT have your own child present at an inspection)

I offered my inspector a cup of tea and she said, "oh it's ok I'll have it when you have yours".

2.5 hours later she left without her cup of tea .
