We moved into our own house from Army Quarters last week, so now paying a mortgage.

DH is still awaiting his clearance to join the prison service, after waiting for almost 6 months to join the Army MPGS service, to then get told because of budget cuts the job he had (meant to start October, then January Then March, now no longer exists!)

I am sooooooooo panicking now, we have DH Army pension, and the income from 1 fulltime mindee!

I have never had a vacancy before but then have always lived on the Army Camp where there were to many children for the amount of minders.

are you on the usual websites?

maybe advertise at local schools or playgroups?

Shoshe · 16/04/2010 17:15

Yep, although I sent in the Government one on the day we moved, but as usual not on that one, and the FIS havnt updated either!

Keen on at FIS, it can take a while for them to update records but constant nagging with luck will mean they get round to doing it.

If your new home is near MQS, can you still advertise in that area - Naffi shop, let Families Officer (or whatever they are called these days) know, HIVE, etc.

Have done that Nick, we are just down the road, think I am just panicking because of DH still not earning (although should be by the time the siblings finish their notice) and that I am now further away from the main source of work.

Never had a phone call that quick before, after putting the word out!

Shoshe, any more enquiries? Hope it goes well on Thursday. I know how soul destroying it can be having vacancies and no phone ringing.

If it is ANY consolation, if you were near me and I needed a CM I would pick you! (and then I would pop by at on the odd ocassion to see if any interesting family members had come to visit you )

Shoshe · 20/04/2010 07:19

No.4

Yes another enquiry for a full time baby, coming to see me next week, so hopefully that will come off, and keeping fingers crossed for the lady coming to see me on Thursday.

If they both sign that will be my spaces filled again.

DH started a temporary job yesterday as well, which he is loving (it is mechanics, so can get dirty again) and may decide to stay with this job(they would like him to) than go into the prison service.

Slightly less pay, but literately the next road down, where as the prison job would be a half hour car drive away, up a road that is awful in the winter.

So now he has to decide!
