Can you ring them and beg for them to come over? It's so frustrating for you, wish I could help you somehow!

I don't want to poke the nest of wasps lol

DH is FED UP with me reading ofsted reports, faffing with me paperwork, it's all in order but it's like picking a scab

[weary]

navyeyelasH · 15/04/2010 23:52

gosh so tiresome for you, step away from the paperwork BALD!

having said that did you see (from my thread) that you need to have Ofsted's address and timescales in your complaints procedure/policy?

Just a thought, my area have sent out an e bullitin - you now also need a procedure for if an allegation of abuse is made against you (childminder), and you need to have changed the ofsted numbers to the new 0300 ones and must be manchester address. Lastly under administering medicines, need to say that parent must administer 1st dose of any antibiotic in case of reaction!!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/04/2010 18:22

yep yep yep but eek to the last one about first dose.

and yep to timescales in complaints policy x x x

(I was on a training course yesterday and the NCMA trainer stated that we must put our ratios on each outing RA sheet and do one very outing. bog off, I am NOT doing a sodding RA every time I take the children anywhere. [angry eyes] The implication is that you might trip yourself up by putting diff numkbers in register and on RA. Who would work over their numbers anyway, partic if you were going out - I can see that it could be tempting if you were always invisible to the public, but who would want to?? I just wish that they would all make their mind up. sorry for rantarama)

(oh and we MUST do a checklist of our settings every morning, it's not enough to do the RA and state that every day you do a visual check of property and garden) GET STUFFED

mumsanutter · 18/04/2010 19:37

I was held up because I didn't do a risk assessment each and every trip, and my thoughts mirror yours exactly. I haven't heard about numbers on the top of each assessment!

Just add a line to administering medicines policy, basically stating what I wrote above ie your happy to administer ab's but parents must administer the first dose in case of any reaction!

I have a check list in my hall hoover cupboard, and I just said that I check against this list each day and mark it in my daily diary, as well as my fridge temp. I write it like this in dairy - date (RA -tick, Fridge - 2 degrees) - my risk assessment includes the check list !

Lastly (again) make sure your learning journeys are up to date, and that you plan forward!!

atworknotworking · 18/04/2010 19:39

Thanks for that mumsanutter. Will double check the address. Have had ratios on RA's for about a year now, but generalise it, so I don't have to do one for each repeat visit, I can email you one of mine BALD if you wanna have a skeg, am on CAT.

With the antibiotic thing my policy is 24hrs after first dose then I will resume care / administer meds. As I see it a child could have a first dose at 7am and land on your doorstep at 7.10am I know a reaction is rare but I would rather make sure.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/04/2010 19:41

RA's sent ladies. Wouldn't mind some feedback on them as well if you don't mind, interesting to see how others do them.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 19/04/2010 16:58

new pooter, am trying to open the attachment

[tongue sticking out in concentration emoticon]

BoysAreLikeDogs · 23/04/2010 21:28

so I like the ratio note and I am going to steal it AWNW if that's okay with you

The RA is set out slightly different to mine but they are basically the same

Thank you matey x x x

Numberfour · 23/04/2010 22:06

AWNW, do you mind sending me your RAs too, please? trying to find a layout i like!

BALD, what a pain in the proverbial waiting and waiting for the knock on the door!

Two days before my inspection, DH packed his bags, took his passport and b*ggered off!! (He returned 20 minutes later asking why i had not called him - so I reminded him I was preparing for my inspection ).

I was SO stressed out. DH and I laugh about it now, but then it was far from funny. I know you are supposed to be 100% ready for inspection at any time and so on, but I reckon only people with assistants or no DC's or those that CM very part time can be that ready all the time!

atworknotworking · 24/04/2010 18:13

Yeah no probs my email is stickyfingers at talk talk dot net, if you email me I'll send over.

LOL BALD I'm too much of a tite arse to pay for windows, so use open office org.
