my mindee is happiest when rolling around on the floor looking in a mirror, but i feel like i should be doing more?

we do messy yogurt play and go to stay and plays, and play with the water table and instruments.

but feel like i should be doing more?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

let them scrabble around the garden, if you are worried about shoes getting wrecked then pop a pair of larger socks over them

jelly play is fun - dump it on the high chair tray and let them make marks (I usually put an overall-style bib on)

hang CDs from the tree on ribbons for visual stimuli

give them a lemon, a leather cuff, a bath lily, some different fabrics to feel and suck

Risk assess any non toys

oo yes i have done a treasure basket recently too.

cant crawl or sit up yet, should i just let them roll on the grass?

yes rolling on the grass is a lovely thing to do (do a code brown check beforehand of course)

put out a low tray (think cat litter tray) on the patio with compost for rooting through, or oats

a bit young for sand, very easy for an 8 month old to flail arms and get it in their eye

ooo ok wow they will be messy! fun fun fun

yep

I always say if they go home filthy then a successful day has been had

might be worth reminding parents not to send in their best gear?

i bought a spare change of clothes for the mindee from charity shop, so can wear those to get messy!
