CM-Plans that don't work out

I had this great theory when my DH started to CM with me, that he would take on 3 full time children, so we would only have 3 EYFS files to keep. Anyway ... fast forward a few months and he now has 4 children and still has a full time space left! Do you ever make plans like that, which just don't work out. I know we took on the children, because we were getting desperate for the money (and they are lovely children, no doubt about it), but we have given ourselves more paperwork, parents evenings, car seat juggling, etc to deal with.

yes i have a child till 2pm thich is right bang in the middle of most play groups here, i dont drive so is a struggle sometimes to find groups and play times within my time scale.

Snap HSMM. As you know, we started with our DHs around the same time and I have the same problem. I had people visit who wanted part days etc. and it was more a case of finding it hard to say no once I'd met lovely families. I ended up with a minimum of 12 files to do. Anyway, as you know, dh and I will not continue doing this together and I must say I'm relieved. We've started reducing mindees, some have already left and others are hopefully staying with reduced hours (waiting for Ofsted to approve 4 under 5 every day). If they agree, I'll be down to 6 EYFS which is a lot better, but it's still more work than it would have been if it wasn't for taking on part timers.

Oh well, look at the positives......if they leave, it's not such a chunk of income to loose in one go .

As for car seat juggling, I'm lucky that all 6 are of similar age and 5 of them use the same sort of car seat so it's fine. It's just working with dh and using 2 cars which is a pain but that ends 2 weeks on Thursday (not that I'm counting the days!! lol)
